I completed three shallow dishes in jarrah a while back. They are all sold already, although I'm only just gettinf to putting them on the site now.

As often happens, I was cutting a board of jarrah into utensil blanks for sale at FOREST TREASURES when it became apparent that the figuring in the wood would be better utilized in something of a bit more 'displayable' nature. Hence, a set of dishes.
The board was only an inch thick so the dishes are quite shallow. They still have a nice freeform flowing shape though ... and great color.
It's always quite a challenge to create depth and shape into a form from a thin piece of wood ... there's not a lot of scope there. In fact, this wouldn't work at all if it wasn't for the fact that the forms I create are so thin. I was quite happy with the way these pieces finished up.
